Hello, my name is Grayson Harris, and I am an incoming Second-Year Student. I am the Chair of the Chartering & Commissioning Committees for the 2022-23 academic year; I want to invite you to apply to one of these Committees (Chartering/Commissioning).

Do you want to get involved on campus for this upcoming school year? If so, this is an excellent opportunity for you to be involved; by participating in one of these Committees as a student, you will learn how to collaborate with other members to get things done; executing plans is key to completing our goals. Once you’re committed to being on the Committee, you are required to attend the weekly meetings when it’s necessary. This involvement is also an excellent way to enhance your resume. I hope you will consider applying for one of these Committee(s).

Chartering Committee is responsible for:
– Approve or Disapprove of the New Student Organization that wishes to be recognized by Augsburg University.
– Review all Chartered Day Student Organizations to assess if they have not met all the criteria for recognition by the Senate.

Commissioning Committee is responsible for:
– Assisting in the commissioning process for the Student Organizations.
– Review the Student Organization, recommend any necessary changes to the Augsburg Day Student Organizations, and Approve or Disapprove the application before submitting it to the Senate.

The Minnesota Urban Debate League, a program of Augsburg University, is seeking debate judges for our Spanish Debate League and East African Debate programs. These programs serve middle and high school students at Minneapolis Public Schools, Saint Paul Public Schools, and select suburban partners and charter schools. Both programs are led by community members, who have taken the policy debate format, and tweaked it to support their students’ growth and engagement.

Judges will earn $55 per virtual tournament. No speech & debate experience is needed to be a judge, though it can be helpful – we will fully train you. More things to know:

* Judges listen to debates, provide constructive feedback, and pick a winner. In the process, they help students build confidence and academic skills like critical thinking, deep listening, and argumentation.

* Judges for our Spanish Debate League must be fluent in Spanish.
East African Debate League tournaments are held in English. (You do not have to be East African to judge, but the topic of the debate pertains directly to the community- what are the pros and cons of attending an integrated public school vs. a culturally-specific charter school?).

* Both types of judges must pass a background check and have a supportive, educational mindset.

Tournaments on these dates will be all virtual! Tournaments are generally held from 4:00-7:00 PM on weeknights. We plan to announce any in-person tournaments at a later date, which will be held in the Twin Cities area.

I am looking for a pet sitter for my ESA July 3rd-14th.
Logan is a sweet and kind rabbit. He is free roam and potty trained.
He loves head pets, bananas, and toys.
He is overall very kind and very chill.
You would be coming over twice a day, feeding him morning and evening, and cleaning out his litter box every 2-3 days.
Paying around 250-300 for the week. It’s a good gig and will only take less than an hour per day.
Bonus, you can spend some time with a rabbit and learn more about how to take care of them.
Experience with pet sitting preferred but not required.

These are the two positions for which we are hiring:

* Middle School Assistant – (Shift options: either 12pm – 3pm or 12pm -6pm.) MS Assistants provide support, supervision, and fun during lunch (12-1pm), assist with small groups in the afternoons, and some will provide supervision and lead games during after camp care. Middle school assistants will be paid $15/hr and can be current high school students (HS graduates and college students are welcome too!) with at least 1 year of speech or debate experience.

* High School Lab Leader – Lab Leaders work with camp faculty instructors to help teach debate labs. This includes: speaking drills, research skill building, judging debate rounds and providing constructive criticism, and helping to ensure students have a positive learning environment. Lab leaders will receive weekly stipends of $500-$750. Lab leaders must have graduated from high school and 1 year of coaching experience is preferred.

It’s true. There is a cookie shortage right now. The cookie booth originally scheduled for Friday, March 11th, has been moved to March 25th. Problems with production and delays in trucking have the local inventory down to nothing! Lucky for you, Eleanor has several varieties available now: Thin Mints, Carmel DeLites, Shortbread, Lemonades, Toast-Yahs, Peanut Butter Sandwhiches, Peanut Butter Patties, and even a few bags of the Gluten Free Carmel Chocolate Chip! We are hiring canvassers for three different canvasses—Muslim Coalition, Black Barbershop and Congregation Cooperative, and a General Canvass to engage in community and talk with voters about our issues and this election.

We will be canvassing through door knocking, phone calling, and texting to accomplish three goals: gather support for the charter amendments on Public Safety and Rent Stabilization, collect voter pledges, and encourage voter turnout.

Our organizing team is made up of highly experienced full-time staff who will provide quality training and daily support to community canvassers.

Community Coach & Judge Roles

We are looking for community coaches for the 2020-21 season. Community coaches are experienced debaters who want to share their expertise with students and collaborate with teacher coaches at our area schools. Applicants who competed in Policy/Cross-Examination, Lincoln Douglas, or Public Forum debate as high schoolers/college students would be highly preferred. We are searching for a contract tournament & event photographer. We are seeking experienced photographers with their own gear who can capture the excitement of tournaments, from rounds to award ceremonies. Weekend availability required in fall. Hello everyone,

My name is Rebecca Froehlich and I am a staff member for Augsburg University as the Development & Communications for the Minnesota Urban Debate League.

My little sister is an English teacher at Tenor High School in Milwaukee, WI. This will be her first year teaching in person.

As her students are returning to in-person learning, she is trying to create a more home-like environment for students in her classroom through sensory items and different learning modalities.

The Operations Coordinator plays an essential role in implementing the administrative and operation systems for the Minnesota Urban Debate League program. The pay range is $38,000-42,000 yearly. Augsburg University provides full benefits; additionally after one year, employees are eligible for tuition remission – a great benefit to further a degree for yourself or a dependent.

Hi! My name is Bella and I am a second year student here at Augsburg studying graphic design. I am currently trying to find personal care assistants to help me in my day to day life here on campus. This would include getting me ready for the day, helping me get set up for class and assisting me around campus.
