Welcome incoming first years and returning students! My name is Ilhan Ahmed and I’m the new president for the Pan-Afrikan Student Union. I believe I speak for everyone when I say the pandemic has robbed us of our college experiences and for some, it has taken much more than just an experience. PASU not only understands but is also prepared to assist our incoming first-year students and returning students in adjusting to this new life. With that being said, we’re looking for three passionate students who can help accomplish this goal. Event Coordinator, Treasurer, and First-Year Representative are the three positions available on the PASU board. Please fill out the PASU Board Application if you’re interested. Keep an eye out for upcoming events!

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is happy to announce we have hired a new admission counselor to join our first-year admission team! We ask the campus community to help welcome Summaiah Junaid as our newest Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions (she joins the first year team along with Shonna Fulford, Josh Owens, and Ramona Tran).
Summaiah joins us from St Cloud State University, where she worked in the Center for International Studies. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer Engineering (’17) at the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore, Pakistan and is working on her Master’s Degree in College Counseling and Student Development (’22) at St. Cloud State University. In addition to her work with international students, she also has experience in the office of admissions and advising. Her experience in higher education, her energy, and her passion for working with first year students will make her an asset to our team and to the larger Augsburg community! Summaiah’s first day will be Monday, August 9th.
