Move-In Parking Restrictions

submitted by erchula@augsburg.edu

Friday August 20 – 8th St S Restricted
To help provide space for students moving into Anderson and Luther we ask that people do not park on 8th St. For those moving in, we ask that you use 8th St to unload your vehicles then move them into a parking lot to continue to provide space for others who need to unload their vehicles.

Thursday August 26th and Friday August 27th – Lot D Reserved
For both Thursday August 26 and Friday August 27th Lot D will be reserved for First Year students and their families. All vehicles will need to be cleared out of Lot D by 6 a.m. on August 26th and August 27th – any vehicles remaining in Lot D after 6 a.m. each day may be relocated to Lot L at the owner’s expense.

Friday August 27th and Monday August 30th – Lot E Closed
Visitor and accessibility spaces in Lot E will be closed August 27 and August 30 for class pictures that are being taken on the steps of Old Main. Any visitors, vendors or contractors should be directed to park in Lot A on these days.

We will not be enforcing permits in our surface lots until September, with the exception of reserved parking spaces, so all other surface lots will be open to students, staff and faculty during the move-in days. Please email publicsafety@augsburg.edu with any questions about parking during move-in.

Indoor Mask Mandate in Effect at Augsburg

submitted by alamilla@augsburg.edu

All students, staff, and faculty are required to wear face coverings in indoor campus spaces, except when eating in dining areas or when in one’s own residential unit or individual office with the door closed. This applies to all U.S. Augsburg locations. (International Augsburg locations are following local protocols.) Masks or face coverings are not required outdoors.

Over the weekend of July 31-August 1, the regional case rates in both Hennepin and Ramsey counties moved to a “substantial” transmission rate (between 50 and 99.99 cases per 100,000 population over 7 days, as defined by the CDC). As a result, Augsburg reinstated the indoor face covering requirement, effective Tuesday, August 3.
