Augsburg Day Student Government (ADSG) is the official governing body of the Day Student population at Augsburg University. There are numerous positions within ADSG that any currently registered undergraduate student that meets eligibility requirements can run for. This is a wonderful opportunity for students who want to champion meaningful change on campus and advocate the concerns and needs of their peers and community.

Augsburg Student Activities Council (ASAC) is a robust student organization that seeks to build community on campus through intentional large-scale programming including but not limited to planning and executing Homecoming, Auggie Days events, Movie Nights, Seasonal Events, and much more. Be a part of creating fun and creative ways for all students to connect to our campus community.

The President and Vice President must run together on the same ticket for both ADSG and ASAC. For other ADSG positions students can run for one or multiple. The remaining ASAC board positions are selected by the President and Vice President.

Students – don’t forget about TutorMe! It is available to Augsburg students 24/7 and offers tutoring in over 300 subjects from qualified tutors. Students are able to use 3 hours a week; 3 one hour sessions or 6 thirty-minute sessions. You can access TutorMe through any of your Moodle classes. At the top left of your screen there is an orange tab to see the side panel of resources. As you scroll down, you will see the “Augsburg Tools” section and underneath is the link to TutorMe. Augsburg University is accepting applications for Auggie Basics Housing for summer 2022 and the 2022-23 academic year.

DEADLINE:
Monday, April 4, 2022 at 5pm

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
Auggie Basics Housing is designed to address the needs of students who are experiencing housing instability. The purpose of the program is to provide a bridge for students whose housing is not stable as they seek to identify a permanent solution.

Students accepted into Auggie Basics Housing will live on campus without cost to the student. Regardless of when students enter the program, the housing commitment will cover the full academic year if needed. If the student secures permanent housing elsewhere, they will be released from the program and the spot will be offered to another student.

MEAL PLANS:
Students are not required to have a meal plan if they are selected for Auggie Basics Housing, including those placed into buildings that require one.

ELIGIBILITY FOR PROGRAM:
To be eligible for Auggie Basics Housing, students must be returning students and not receiving other housing aid from the University. Incoming first-year and transfer students are not eligible to apply.

Students may apply for housing either for the summer term and/or for the academic year. Students must reapply each academic year, and may be part of the program for up to two academic years. Being chosen for Auggie Basics Housing one year does not guarantee participation in future years.

Augsburg community members aged 60+ are invited to participate in a short online survey on their interactions with those in other age groups. Volunteer Virtually This Spring

The Minnesota Urban Debate League is a program of Augsburg University. We provide academic competitive debate to middle and high school students in the Twin Cities. Our programs, including the Spanish Debate League, help students succeed through academic and personal development!

The Spanish Debate League returns virtually this spring. In this program, students learn debate skills while competing and practicing entirely in Spanish. The community chose this year’s topic – the ethics of eating animal products.

We need judges to make it happen! Being a judge is easy and fun. Debate judges listen to students, share feedback, and choose the winner! No experience required! We are just looking for people who are fluent in Spanish and want to support students. Questions? Email us at udlvolunteers@augsburg.edu

Are you a filmmaker or screenwriter? Or did you make a film or write a short script that you want to show people? Then we have something for you!

Augsburg University welcomes undergraduate students from around Minnesota to the 4th Annual Intercollegiate Film Festival. The call for submissions is open now unitl March 20th!

The festival recognizes the work of student filmmakers and writers as part of an interconnected statewide film community. The festival provides networking opportunities and juried merit awards of distinction. The festival is juried by professors and industry professionals. Additional support is provided by the Department of Communication Studies, Film, and New Media at Augsburg University and Twin Cities Film Fest.

Auggies can submit to the festival for free using a top secret waiver code (just email me). The festival will be held on April 2nd.

The Augsburg Leadership Awards are given at the end of every spring semester to outstanding student leaders and student organizations. Members of the Augsburg Senior Leadership Society are inducted, graduating Act Six scholars are honored, and recent graduates of the Emerging Leaders Program are celebrated and recognized.
