Save-the-Date. CTL Back-to-School Workshops in August

submitted by greenj@augsburg.edu

To kick off the new academic year IN PERSON (fingers crossed), CTL is hosting the Back-to-School Workshops on Wednesday, August 25th and Thursday, August 26th from 8:30am to 4:00pm each day. Workshops and sessions will be held in Hagfors with the final schedule published in mid-August. These Back-to-School workshops are open to and welcome all Augsburg faculty and staff.

The goal of these Back-to-School workshops is to primarily focus on “just-in-time” topics that can be immediately put to use in your upcoming Fall courses. If you have a concept or teaching strategy/tool that you would like to offer to others by offering a 1 or 1.5 hour workshop, please contact CTL (ctl@augsburg.edu) to schedule a workshop or session.

If you have any questions or need accommodations for this event, please contact CTL Director Jennifer L. Bankers-Fulbright at bankers@augsburg.edu.

Our office, the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), is looking for faculty and staff members who are interested in hosting our new international students for a dinner off-campus in your home.

Here are the details:
Date: Wednesday, August 25, 2021
Time: Pick up at 5 p.m. with a return to campus around 7 p.m.

We ask that our hosts pick up students from campus and return them once dinner is completed. The new incoming group will consist of 20+ international students.

COVID status: ALL the new international students coming from abroad are required to follow the CDC and MDH guidelines, with a required 7-day quarantine (unvaccinated students), and COVID testing on day 3-5 upon arrival.
All students will show proof of a negative COVID test prior to traveling to the United States (tested 72 hours before departure), proof of recovery and/or proof of vaccination.

Any students needing quarantine, will have ended this period on August 25th. And will have been offered to receive their first dose of the vaccine.
