Augsburg University is accepting applications for Auggie Basics Housing for summer 2022 and the 2022-23 academic year.
DEADLINE:
Monday, April 4, 2022 at 5pm
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
Auggie Basics Housing is designed to address the needs of students who are experiencing housing instability. The purpose of the program is to provide a bridge for students whose housing is not stable as they seek to identify a permanent solution.
Students accepted into Auggie Basics Housing will live on campus without cost to the student. Regardless of when students enter the program, the housing commitment will cover the full academic year if needed. If the student secures permanent housing elsewhere, they will be released from the program and the spot will be offered to another student.
MEAL PLANS:
Students are not required to have a meal plan if they are selected for Auggie Basics Housing, including those placed into buildings that require one.
ELIGIBILITY FOR PROGRAM:
To be eligible for Auggie Basics Housing, students must be returning students and not receiving other housing aid from the University. Incoming first-year and transfer students are not eligible to apply.
Students may apply for housing either for the summer term and/or for the academic year. Students must reapply each academic year, and may be part of the program for up to two academic years. Being chosen for Auggie Basics Housing one year does not guarantee participation in future years.

It is both painful and inspiring to witness the courage of the Ukrainian people as they fight for their democracy in the face of an unprovoked invasion and grapple with the resulting humanitarian crisis. Augsburg student Lucas Kurle has collected a helpful set of ways in which we might support the people of Ukraine in this difficult time.
Organizations like UNICEF (the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) and GoFundMe are seeking donations to help the Ukrainian people. You can learn more at

There are also ways to get money directly to Ukrainians who need it. One method is to rent an AirBnB in Ukraine and leave a note in the description indicating that you aren’t coming but simply wanted to donate directly to someone who needs it and offer words of support.

URGO has a limited amount of funds this year to support students presenting their research at conferences.
URGO offers up to $850 in travel funding for Augsburg undergraduates who have been accepted to present research at a professional conference. These funds can mitigate the high costs of travel such as airfare and lodging, and can contribute to students’ professionalization.
The application is available at the URGO website (www.augsburg.edu/urgo) at the “conference travel” page. Grants are awarded on a rolling basis, so students are encouraged to work with their research mentor to submit a travel application as soon as possible after receiving acceptance to a conference. The URGO Advisory Committee meets bi-monthly to make decisions on applications.

The university is facing a financial crisis in the coming year. All aspects of the university experience and its operations will be impacted in one way or another.
• Who is making the decisions, and how?
• What’s the full scope of the necessary changes?
• Will budget cuts and changes be equitably shared?
These questions, and others, have been asked by a number of working groups at faculty and staff levels, yet many remain unanswered. Augsburg’s values call us to be informed citizens, thoughtful stewards, critical thinkers, and responsible leaders. Unwillingness from university leadership to have a transparent budget process is an affront to these values.
Join the concerned staff, faculty, and university community, in demanding transparency in the budget cuts and changes. All members of the university and community are invited to show their support, and call upon the university to live up to its values, by signing this petition.

On March 31st, Augsburg’s Pan Afrikan Student Union will be hosting our annual Afrikan Night Event. The theme for this year is “Taste of the Diaspora”. We would like to invite all students to attend. There will be live performances, catered food, and an African Fashion Show!

Augsburg has chartered a bus for students who are in need of transportation to attend the funeral service for Claudia Murray this Saturday, March 5 at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church. The bus will be located in front of Anderson Music Hall on 7 1/2 Street. Loading time will be at 1pm, departure will be at 1:15pm, with the start of the service being at 2pm. The bus will depart for Augsburg at 3:30pm after the reception. Questions about the bus can be directed to Michael Grewe at grewe@augsburg.edu.

Augsburg Day Student Government (ADSG) is the official governing body of the Day Student population at Augsburg University. There are numerous positions within ADSG that any currently registered undergraduate student that meets eligibility requirements can run for. This is a wonderful opportunity for students who want to champion meaningful change on campus and advocate the concerns and needs of their peers and community.
Augsburg Student Activities Council (ASAC) is a robust student organization that seeks to build community on campus through intentional large-scale programming including but not limited to planning and executing Homecoming, Auggie Days events, Movie Nights, Seasonal Events, and much more. Be a part of creating fun and creative ways for all students to connect to our campus community.
The President and Vice President must run together on the same ticket for both ADSG and ASAC. For other ADSG positions students can run for one or multiple. The remaining ASAC board positions are selected by the President and Vice President.

Augsburg Day Student Government (ADSG) is the official governing body of the Day Student population at Augsburg University. There are numerous positions within ADSG that any currently registered undergraduate student that meets eligibility requirements can run for. This is a wonderful opportunity for students who want to champion meaningful change on campus and advocate the concerns and needs of their peers and community.
Augsburg Student Activities Council (ASAC) is a robust student organization that seeks to build community on campus through intentional large-scale programming including but not limited to planning and executing Homecoming, Auggie Days events, Movie Nights, Seasonal Events, and much more. Be a part of creating fun and creative ways for all students to connect to our campus community.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
Auggie Basics Housing is designed to address the needs of students who are experiencing housing instability. The purpose of the program is to provide a bridge for students whose housing is not stable as they seek to identify a permanent solution.
Students accepted into Auggie Basics Housing will live on campus without cost to the student. Regardless of when students enter the program, the housing commitment will cover the full academic year if needed. If the student secures permanent housing elsewhere, they will be released from the program and the spot will be offered to another student.
MEAL PLANS:
Students are not required to have a meal plan if they are selected for Auggie Basics Housing, including those placed into buildings that require one.
ELIGIBILITY FOR PROGRAM:
To be eligible for Auggie Basics Housing, students must be returning students and not receiving other housing aid from the University. Incoming first-year and transfer students are not eligible to apply.
Students may apply for housing either for the summer term and/or for the academic year. Students must reapply each academic year, and may be part of the program for up to two academic years. Being chosen for Auggie Basics Housing one year does not guarantee participation in future years.

URGO has a limited amount of funds this year to support students presenting their research at conferences.
URGO offers up to $850 in travel funding for Augsburg undergraduates who have been accepted to present research at a professional conference. These funds can mitigate the high costs of travel such as airfare and lodging, and can contribute to students’ professionalization.
The application is available at the URGO website (www.augsburg.edu/urgo) at the “conference travel” page. Grants are awarded on a rolling basis, so students are encouraged to work with their research mentor to submit a travel application as soon as possible after receiving acceptance to a conference. The URGO Advisory Committee meets bi-monthly to make decisions on applications.

Many in our community are holding grief as we deal with the loss of two of our community members, Claudia and Kailey. Knowing this, the Center for Wellness & Counseling wants to remind the campus community of two important support resources: our walk-in hours and our after-hours phone counseling service. Regular walk-in hours at CWC are Mondays 10-12, Wednesdays 1-3, and Thursdays 1-3. The after-hours phone counseling and crisis support service is available anytime CWC is closed (evenings, nights, weekends, and 24/7 over break). URGO has a limited amount of funds this year to support students presenting their research at conferences.
URGO offers up to $850 in travel funding for Augsburg undergraduates who have been accepted to present research at a professional conference. These funds can mitigate the high costs of travel such as airfare and lodging, and can contribute to students’ professionalization.
The application is available at the URGO website (www.augsburg.edu/urgo) at the “conference travel” page. Grants are awarded on a rolling basis, so students are encouraged to work with their research mentor to submit a travel application as soon as possible after receiving acceptance to a conference. The URGO Advisory Committee meets bi-monthly to make decisions on applications.

Auggie Basics Housing is designed to address the needs of students who are experiencing housing instability. The purpose of the program is to provide a bridge for students whose housing is not stable as they seek to identify a permanent solution.
Students accepted into Auggie Basics Housing will live on campus without cost to the student. Regardless of when students enter the program, the housing commitment will cover the full academic year if needed. If the student secures permanent housing elsewhere, they will be released from the program and the spot will be offered to another student.
MEAL PLANS:
Students are not required to have a meal plan if they are selected for Auggie Basics Housing, including those placed into buildings that require one.
ELIGIBILITY FOR PROGRAM:

The university is facing a financial crisis in the coming year, and all aspects of the university experience and operations will be impacted in one way or another.
Who is making the decisions, and how?
What’s the full scope of the necessary changes?
Will budget cuts and changes be equitably shared?
These questions have been asked by a number of working groups at faculty and staff levels, yet many remain unanswered. Augsburg’s values call us to be informed citizens, thoughtful stewards, critical thinkers, and responsible leaders. Unwillingness from university leadership to have a transparent budget process is an affront to these values.
Join the concerned staff, faculty, and university community in demanding transparency in the budget cuts and changes. All members of the university and community are invited to show their support of this petition for transparency.

Calling all artists! This year, The Forum on Workplace Inclusion is providing a platform for artists of all mediums to showcase creative expressions at the 34th annual conference around the theme Solving For X: Tackling Inequities in a World of Unknowns.
Submissions can be made in the form of print, video, or audio recording not to exceed seven minutes in duration. The deadline to submit your work is Friday March 11, 2022.
Submissions will be reviewed by committee and selected submissions notified by March 21, 2022. Artists selected will have the opportunity to attend the entirety of this year’s annual conference and be invited to share and talk about their work in a virtual showcase event Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
